5 more +ve cases in UT, total 13 now

Five fresh positive cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) were recorded in Chandigarh on Monday taking the total number of cases here to 13. Three primary contacts of eighth positive COVID-19 case have also been tested positive on Monday.

“40 years old mother of the eighth positive case, admitted in isolation ward of GMCH-32 is also tested positive.  Two of his other primary contacts including a 23-year old male resident and another 23 years old male resident, both admitted in isolation ward of GMCH-32 are also tested positive,” said an official spokesman.

A  NRI couple including 32 years old male and 32 years old female, both residents of Canada who were admitted at isolation ward of GMCH-32, have also been tested positive for COVID-19, the spokesman added. The city had recorded its eighth positive case of COVID-19 on Friday. The 22-year-old man from Chandigarh’s Sector 30 had showed no symptoms for 10 days after returning from Dubai and had reported to a local hospital only on the 15th day. During this period, he came in contact with more than 80 people, who were put under home quarantine.
