Three hardcore rebels of PLFI were arrested by Ranchi police from Namkum and Pandara police station area of the state capital.

Ranchi SSP Surendra Kumar Jha informed that police recovered two pistols, 29 live bullets and three mobile phones and bikes from their possession.

Arrested rebels were identified as Vinay Tigga, Kachna Pahan and Sunny Kacchap who are residents of Nagri police station area. All of them were living rented house

“We had intelligence inputs that some criminals associated with PLFI are secretly operating in the city capital and they have planned to target people for extortion. Once inputs were verified police carried raids and arrested them,” Jha said.

Raids were carried on Saturday evening and after arresting the accused were questioned by the police.

Both Vinay and Kachana were arrested from Ketaribagan under Namkum police station area when police spotted them standing outside of the house of one Virendra Mandal along with their bike and bag.  

They were immediately taken at Namkum police station where they were questioned by senior police officials. They disclosed that their third associate Sunny is staying in Pandara locality.

All of them have criminal background and FIR was lodged against them under section 385 and 387 of IPC and sections of Arms Act.

Sources in the police said that in the past one fortnight Ranchi police arrested a number of dreaded rebels of PLFI after a citybased builder and proprietor of a vernacular daily was targeted for ransom.

Arrested rebels include Parmeshwar Gope alias Prem Gope, Raviranjan Pandey, Md. Feroz, Amit Oraon and Kuldeep Gope.
