Trouble seems to be brewing in the state Congress as three Congress MLAs Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kacchap and Umashankar Akela visited Delhi where they met some of the top leaders and expressed their mind about the State leadership of the party.
The development has taken place at a time when the Central leadership of the Congress is desperately trying to save its government in Rajasthan.
These MLAs are learnt to have met with Ahmed Patel; the political advisor of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Gulam Nabi Azad and have returned Ranchi. However, these MLAs are tight-lipped about the purpose and outcome of their Delhi visit. But sources in the Congress said that they have complained to central leadership that the Congress MLAs are being ignored within the party and the government.
The Congress is part of the JMM-Congress-RJD government and one cabinet berth of the Congress quota is still vacant. MLAs said that a qualified person from the Congress quota should be inducted in the ministry against vacant berth.
They want posting of their choicest officials in their constituency. They are also trying to build pressure upon the central leadership for the change of leadership in the State unit. But their demand for change of guard has no taker. It is also believed that Congress’ Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Prasad Sahu is backing them.
Sources in the Congress however confided that Central leadership took little interest towards their demands and grudges and have communicated to State leadership to address their concern and keep them disciplined.
On being contacted state Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, who is also president of state Congress said that he is not aware of the purpose of their Delhi visit.
“They can explain better that what pain they have to visit Delhi which we can’t solve locally. If they have really grievances then these will be sorted out. Central leadership has asked me to look into such matters and I am very serious about this,” said Oraon.
Asked whether he is aware of the role allegedly played by Sahu; Oraon termed it a rumour.
