Two more persons succumbed to coronavirus infection in Ganjam district on Monday, increasing the total death toll in the State to 23.
Ganjam has now recorded 12 deaths, the highest in the State.
Meanwhile on Monday, 245 more persons tested positive for the virus in the State with 214 cases reported from quarantine centres and 31 local cases. And the total cases climbed to 6,859.
Ganjam recorded the day’s highest 96 cases, followed by Jajpur with 40, Khordha 28, Bargarh 10, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Cuttack and Gajapati seven each, Jagatsinghpur nine, Sundargarh six, Baleswar two, Dhenkanal three, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj fiveeach, Bhadrak two and Rayagada and Subarnapur one each.
However, 203 more patients recovered on Monday, taking the total recoveries to 4,946. The maximum 60 recovered in Ganjam, 20 in Gajapati, 19 Khordha, 18 Cuttack, 14 Bhadrak, 13 Keonjhar, 12 Nayagarh, 10 Mayurbhanj, nine Jajpur, eight Baleswar, seven Kendrapada, four Angul, three Dhenkanal, two each Balangir and Jagatsinghpur and one each Deogarh and Sundargarh.
