The upward swing in the numbers of the Covid-19 cases in Uttarakhand is continuing unabatedly. On Thursday the state health department reported 199 patients of Covid-19 which increased the tally of the disease to 7065 in the state. Four patients of the disease also died on day increasing the death toll to 76.
The authorities discharged 185 patients of the disease from different hospitals after their recovery. A total of 3996 patients of the disease have so far recovered and have been discharged from the hospitals where they were admitted.
The recovery rate in the state now stands at 56.56 percent while the doubling rate- which indicates the time in which the cases are getting doubled- is at 27.64 days.The health authorities have so far collected swab samples of 163683 suspected patients and out of the total samples tested 4.60 percent samples have tested positive in Uttarakhand. In Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani two patients (a 53 year old male and a 36 year old female) were reported dead on Thursday. Similarly a 64 year old female expired at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on the day. At All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh a 21 year old male died.
In provisional state capital Dehradun 74 patients of the disease were reported on the day. Similarly 47 patients surfaced in Haridwar, 26 in Nainital, 17 in Champawat, nine in Pithoragarh, seven in Uttarkashi, six in Chamoli and three each in Rudraprayag and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Thursday. Two patients surfaced in Bageshwar while one was reported from Almora district.
In Haridwar 142 patients were discharged from hospitals while 33 were released in Dehradun district. In Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi four patients each were discharged on the day while in Almora two patients were discharged. The state now has 2955 active patients of the disease with Haridwar district leading the table with 886 active cases followed by Udham Singh Nagar district which has 777 active cases.
Dehradun is in third position with 465 active cases while Nainital now has 451 active patients of Covid 19. Almora now has 83 active patients each while Pithoragarh has 73 active patients. Uttarkashi has 68, Tehri 52, Champawat 49, Pauri 30 and Chamoli nine active cases of the disease. Bageshwar and Rudraprayag have six active cases each.
To prevent the infection from spreading further the authorities have now declared 334 areas as containment zones. The Haridwar district alone has 299 containment zones, Udham Singh Nagar has 17, Dehradun 13, Uttarkashi has four and Champawat has one such zone.
