Samajwadi Party State president Rabi Behera has urged the members of State Assembly to pass an unanimous resolution in the current Monsoon session to rename the Paradip port after legendary leader and former CM Biju Patnaik.
The Government of India on the 150th year of Calcutta Port Trust has renamed it as Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Trust. Similarly a port in Gujurat has been renamed after Deendayal Upadhyaya. Keeping this in view Rajya Sabha MP Prasanna Acharya has demanded to rename Paradip Port in the name of Biju which Samajwadi party chief secretary general and Rajyasabha MP Prof Ramagopal Yadav has supported, said Behera.
Earlier in January, Behera had also urged the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to name the Paradip Port after of Biju.
