Samajwadiparty State president Rabindra Nath Behera welcomed the decision of the State Cabinet on Monday regarding reservation to students of Government schools in medical and engineering education. "This is a historic decision of your Government and reflects your concern for the upliftment of the poor and rural population," said Behera.
Behera requested the CM to go a few steps further in this regard by taking steps like stringent action against coaching centres for medical and engineering fleecing students; reservation of 25 % seats in reputed coaching centres like Allen, Fitzee, Aakash, Bidwan etc for poor and underprivileged groups; free accommodation to the poor and meritorious students selected for coaching in cities and towns and improvement in standard of education in Government schools by filling the vacant teacher posts.
