A day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged the Centre for running of a passenger train on the newly-laid Haridaspur-Paradip line, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday wrote to Railways Minister Piyush Goyal requesting him to get the rail line inaugurated in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the earliest.
He demanded that Goya personally take steps to run a passenger train on the 82-km railway route soon.
“Kendrapada people’s long aspiration for running of a passenger train in the district will be a reality if such a train is introduced soon. I hope you will take steps in this regard soon,” wrote Pradhan.
On Tuesday, the Chief Minister had written to Goyal seeking required approval and certifications for running of a passenger train at the earliest.
