Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 4,930 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the count of infections to 18,28,826, the state health department said.
With 95 more patients succumbing to the viral infection, the overall toll mounted to 47,246, it said.
A total of 6,290 patients were discharged during the day, taking the tally of recoveries to 16,91,412, a health department official said, adding that the state is now left with 89,098 active cases.
Mumbai city reported 724 new cases, taking its caseload to 2,84,191 while the count of fatalities rose by nine to 10,893, he said.
The state has so far tested 1,09,15,683 samples.
The Mumbai division, which consists of Mumbai city and satellite towns, reported 1,356 new cases, raising the total count to 6,34,016. A total of 18,537 people have died so far in the region, the official said.
The total number of cases in the Pune division stands at 4,56,646 and fatalities 10,820, he said.
Nashik division's cumulative case tally is 2,45,710 and death toll is 4,554, the official said.
Kolhapur division has reported 1,13,551 cases and 3,874 deaths till now, while Aurangabad division's caseload stands at 68,186 and the death count at 1,706.
Latur division has reported 75,367 cases until now and 2,274 fatalities.
Akola division has 58,730 cases while 1,411 people have succumbed to the COVID-19 disease so far.
Nagpur division has 1,74,500 infections and 3,950 fatalities, the official informed.
