Thursday, 30 April 2020 | PNS | Jammu

Minutes after the worshipers, living close to the Line of Control in Poonch sector, broke their day long fast on the fifth day of holy month of Ramzan, Pakistan Army resorted to 'unprovoked' ceasefire violation  in a bid to push  small groups of  heavily armed infiltrators inside the Indian territory on Wednesday.

This was the second back to back violation by the Pakistan  in the same sector.  Due to heavy exchange of firing, worshipers could not even offer prayers 'peacefully'  inside their homes.

Defence PRO in Jammu, Lt-Col Devender Anand said, "Pakistan violated  ceasefire in Shahpur and Kirni sectors of Poonch around 5.15 p.m on wendesday and later they resorted to mortar shelling in Mankote and Mendhar sectors of Poonch around 7.10 p.m.

Till the time of filing the report, heavy shelling was going on in the area forcing the villagers to remain inside homes. Defence PRO said, Indian Army also gave befitting reply.

Indian army has been  put in a state of high alert amid fresh reports of assembly of large number of heavily armed infiltrators close to their launching pads across POK.
