CRPF records 58 new Covid infections in its ranks

The CRPF on Monday recorded 58 new Covid-19 infections in its ranks even as the tally of pandemic-hit personnel in the Force stood at 1,131 followed by 21 new cases in BSF and four in ITBP.

During the last 24 hours, 140 patients recovered in the CRPF which has at present 567 active cases, highest amongst all the paramilitary forces. The figure for recoveries in the CRPF stands at 655. The death count due to the novel coronavirus in the CRPF is nine.

Likewise, the number of Covid-19 active cases in BSF is 305 and 655 patients have recovered till now. The death count is four plus a road accident victim who was later tested to be Covid-19 positive. A total of 965 persons in BSF have contracted the disease.

The Sashastra Seema Bal has 37 active cases and 110 recovered personnel.

With the four new cases, the tally of infected persons in the ITBP is 317, including 81 active cases and 236 recoveries. During the last 24 hours, 13 patients have recovered from the pandemic.

Out of total active cases in ITBP, 21 are in Delhi and the remaining 60 are at other different locations. Condition of all admitted is stable, a paramilitary spokesperson said.

As many as 19 ITBP personnel hit by Covid-19 are being managed at CAPF Referral Hospital, Greater Noida, one each at Safdurjang Hospital and MCD Hospital here besides eight at Tezpur, one each at Gangtok and Bommuru (Andhra Pradesh), two at Madurai, five at Raipur, nine at Jagdalpur, one at Jabalpur, four at Prayagraj/ Koshambi, nine at Dehradun, one at Samba, four at Rajouri, eight in Katihar, one each at Shimla and Jammu and two at Guwahati. One patient each is admitted at Shilapathar and Nahan besides two at Purnea.

Personnel from other paramilitary forces and Central police organisations admitted at CAPF Referral Hospital, Greater Noida include seven from BSF, 47 from CRPF, 55 from CISF, seven from SSB, four from NIA, one of NSG, NSG, two Intelligence Bureau staff, one each from NTRO and NDRF.

Family members of paramilitary personnel undergoing treatment at the referral hopital inlcude a total of 15 patients (ITBP-4, CRPF-2,  CBI-3, CISF-4, Ex BSF-2).
