While the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday expelled Kapil Gujjar, the man who fired the shots during protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Shaheen Bagh, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said  BJP wrote the script of riots during the assembly elections. Gujjar expelled from the BJP hours after he joined the party.

Targeting BJP for allowing his membership with the saffron party, Bharadwaj said joining of Gujjar in the party clearly exposed BJP’s palm to create communal disharmony in Delhi and to gain political advantage out of it; earlier the key organizers of Shaheen Bagh also joined the BJP,” Bharadwaj asserted. He further said that around 72 hours before the election both BJP and Delhi Police alleged that Kapil was associated with the AAP and BJP chief JP Nadda said that he was a terrorist and the same BJP welcomed this person.

Attacking on the opposition in Delhi, Bharadwaj said on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party I want to ask the BJP that why a terrorist is joining their party.

Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament ( MP ) Sanjay Singh also supported the Bhardwaj  .

In a press conference, Bharadwaj said, "During the preparation of Delhi legislative assembly election the BJP focused on only one issue which is the issue of Shaheen Bagh. Using this issue the BJP communalised the whole politics and spread hatred. The BJP instigated both the communities against each other. Everybody was feared that any time a communal riot can take place in the national capital. Everybody was feared that if such riot happens then innocent people will die."

He said, "From the very first day the Aam Aadmi Party is in the view that the Shaheen Bagh protest might be started by a group of pro-democratic people but then BJP took over the control of this protest. That point of time the situation of Shaheen Bagh was such that anything could have happened there. Some days before the election a person named Kapil Gujjar reached Shaheen Bagh and opened fire. He also raised pro-BJP slogans. Everything happened in front of the Delhi police and they remained silent."

He said, "BJP wanted to create a communal riot in Delhi. Later the BJP held a press conference and key functionaries and organisers of the Shaheen Bagh protest joined the BJP. Yesterday The news came that Gujjar has also joined the BJP."

“It should be noted that both the sides of the Shaheen Bagh protest joined the BJP. Forced the people who organise the protest joined the BJP and then the people who opened fire at the Shaheen Bagh protest also joined BJP. Now it is very clear that both the aspects of the script called Shaheen Bagh have a direct connection with the BJP. It is also clear that the BJP orchestrated this protest to spread communal disharmony before election inside Delhi."

He said, "Just 72 hours before the election when the model code of conduct was in place then Delhi police DCP said that Gurjar has an association with the Thereafter BJP president JP Nadda said that Kapil Gurjar is a terrorist and the Aam Aadmi Party is giving shelter to such terrorists. Today on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party I want to ask the BJP that why a terrorist is joining their party?"

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has said BJP reiterated as Gujjar is AAP supporter and Ghaziabad BJP instantly cancelled membership of Kapil Gujjar.
