Two inspectors of Gabhana police station are trapped in a bribery case.
On the complaint of BJP MLA from Barauli, SSP has conducted an inquiry and a case has been registered against them under The Prevention of CorruptionAct.
These cases have registered after the investigation of the complaint by SP Crime.
And during the investigation, both have been suspended. At the same time, four other inspectors of the same police station have also been lined-up after getting continuous complaints against them. This action has shaken the police department.
MLA Thakur Dalveer Singh in his complaint to the SSP said that Ruby, daughter-in-law of Laxmiraj Singh of Balwant Nagaria village, was in fields on June 28, when she found a mobile phone on the way which she brought to her home. Later, his son put his sim in it. Meanwhile, on the same day, SSI Rajkumar of Gabhana police station phoned his son and called him to the police station. However, the son told the whole truth of the mobile phone to the inspector. On this, the SSI threatened him for the arrest on the charges of mobile theft and demanded 25 thousand rupees to settle the issue. On that day, they had a wedding at home. Under compulsion, jewelry of daughter-in-law was kept on a mortgage and gave 25 thousand rupees to the inspector to release son. Later, on August 11, when the victim complained to MLA and after the intervention of MLA when SP crime started the investigation, inspector Ankit Kumar begins pressurizing them for the settlement.
One more similar complaint was given by Virendra Singh, of Madhola village to the MLA. According to him, on August 11, police stopped his bike during checking at the toll plaza and took him to the police station and trapped him on the charges of bike theft. He clarified that he had bought this bike from Salman, a resident of Imalhara village of Chandaus for 12 thousand rupees. Despite this, the inspector Praveen Kumar demanded 50 thousand rupees in exchange to release him and his bike. Somehow, he managed to pay 15 thousand and got released. He gave this money to a person in a plain uniform present in the police station. On the complaint of both these cases, SSP handed over the investigation to SP Crime. Meanwhile, two days ago, the SSI was suspended on completion of the investigation, while five policemen of the police station including, Praveen Kumar, Sarvesh Kumar, Ankit Kumar, Arun Kumar, and Sukhpal, were called for investigations. FIR have been registered based on the received complaint of victims against both inspectors at Gabhana police station under The Prevention of Corruption Act on Sunday.
