At a time when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the names of candidates in more than half of the seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the candidates of seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi have not been announced yet.
According to sources, the BJP is waiting for AAP- Congress alliance and this is the only reason of delay in the formal announcement of names of party candidates in Delhi. As per Delhi BJP office bearers, a final decision on the alliance will help BJP decide candidates strategically against its opponent. If party sources are to be believed, if Congress and AAP alliance materialises, it will be difficult for BJP and it will pose tough political fight in the national Capital.
Pertinently, Delhi BJP election core committee sent first list of candidates on March 15 was disapproved by the party high command as the name of newly joined BJP Gautam Gambhir was missing. BJP sent again a fresh list of candidates on March 18 including the name of Sadhvi Ritambara from East Delhi.
