A five-day State-level Youth Red Cross education and training camp organised by the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch Youth Red Cross was inaugurated here on Tuesday.
Chief guest Higher Education Minister Ananta Das lauded the commitment of the Red Cross volunteers towards social services. He also urged the volunteers to give their utmost dedication towards social services, through which problems in society can be solved.
Society Honourary Secretary Major General Dr Kalpana Dash spoke about the aim and objective of the camp. On the occasion, the Red Cross unit provided Rs 15,000 to mother of a deceased physically-challenged Red Cross volunteer, Pradeep Kumar Barik.
Youth Red Cross State Coordinator Gopal Krushna Mishra coordinated the programme. Among others, Neelachal Polytechnic Coordination Association secretary Saroj Kumar Sahu, Rama Devi Women’s University Red Cross advisor Sushil Kumar Patnaik and Lingaraj Panda were present.
