In a shocking incident, a youth reportedly killed his cousin and wrote the confession of it on the wall of his house at Simor village under the Baghamari police outpost in the district on Tuesday night.
Later, the accused absconded after the incident. The deceased was identified as Satyabrata Patra (25).
Sources said Satyabrata went to sleep after having dinner at night. However, he was found in a pool of blood with his neck slit on the bed in the morning. It is alleged that the accused youth, who happens to be Satyabrata’s cousin and was staying in the same house, killed the latter as he had been reprimanding him for liquor consumption.
Besides, a confession of the accused was also found written on the house wall mentioning that he killed Satyabrata as he had been torturing him frequently.
“I was being tortured by your son. I asked him what is hampering him if I am taking alcohol. I could not bear when he started beating me last night. I killed him,” the accused wrote in his confession on the wall.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
