To bring out the hidden creative personalities of young theatre aspirants, a mask making workshop is being organised in city.
The workshop that began from Thursday is being organized by Children’s Theatre Academy at Gandhi Bhavan. The expert is teaching as many as 40 aspirants to make different sorts of masks.
Under this weeklong mask making workshop the children will learn Mask Design which includes, mold making, leather molding, cutting and trimming, and coloring and finishing. The students under this workshop will also get to know about the history of mask and mask making.
Not only this, but the aspirants will also learn about the different kind of masks made around the world. The students will be taken on journey of mask making which will be a different and unique art form to be learned other than other art forms for the students.
This workshop includes basic supplies such as clay, sculpture tools, master mold making material and some finishing materials. The students will finish this class with two masks and the knowledge of the process and experience to create more masks.
On the first day of the workshop i.e. here on Thursday the expert gave a small demonstration of the mask making. Qureshi made the mask out of Plaster of Paris. Then, the expert performed the procedure on the face of one of the students and prepared a mask.
