Water supply would be affected in parts of the national Capital this week due to annual flushing programme of underground reservoir and booster pumping station (BPS).
Delhi Jal Board (DJB) in a release stated that water supply will be affected on Thursday in Kishan Garh and Mehrauli, Sangam Park area, Kirti Nagar, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh, Rohini Sector-5,6,7 and 8, Rithala, , Civil Line, Naya Bazar, Naya Bans, Chandni Chowk, Lahori Gate, Pili Kohti, Kashmiri Gate, St Stephen Hospital, Mori Gate, Tirarh Ram Hospital, Rajpur Road, Banglow Road, Sarai Phoos and adjoining areas.
Further, due to annual program for flushing of underground reservoir and booster pumping station, water supply will be affected on Friday and Saturday in the following areas Qutub Garh, Katewara, Mungeshpur, Nangal Thakran, Bajitpur, Auchandi, Harevali, University area, Vijay Nagar, Timarpur, Khyber Pass area, Metcalf House, Majnu ka Tila, Old Secretariat and adjoining areas, it stated.
DJB has advised residents to store sufficient quantity of water in advance as per their requirement to avoid inconvenience. The Board also said that water tankers will be available on request.
