‘Mausam Live’ App, the mobile application, being developed by the department of meteorology for live updates on the different weather phenomenon, is yet to get developed even after more than one year.
The ‘Mausam live application’ is a project by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) New Delhi and was started with the purpose of giving live updates of weather includes feeds and other such services to the public, especially for North-West India.
The work on the project started in July 2018 but the App is not ready yet.
Informing about the project, the Scientist B from State Meteorological Centre MM Saklani said, “The development of the application has been pending from last year. One of the main objectives of this application was to give updates especially regarding the Char Dham Yatra and Kailash Mansoravar Yatra. However, due to the lack of manpower, nothing further has been done and the condition of the application has been the same.”
State Met Centre director Bikram Singh said, “The application was a project by the regional centre. So, there is not much we can do about it.
It is under development and we, from our part, are trying to push it for further development.”
Experts opine that lack of urgency on part of the met department on development of such an important mobile application is surprising.
They are of the view that such an app can be useful of lakhs of tourists, pilgrims and the residents of Uttarakhand.
