Chhattisgarh Labour, Urban Administration and Development, Minister Shiv Kumar Dahariya on Wednesday discussed with Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Mumbai Gavin Chay various aspects of the prosperous island nation’s urban development model for their implementation in the state.
In the meeting, held in a private hotel in Raipur, the minister particularly showed interest in Singapore’s urban traffic system and ‘hanging garden’ and wanted to emulate them in the state, government sources privy to the meeting said.
Minister said initiatives would be taken for holding a high-level discussion for adoption of Singapore’s urban model. Gavin suggested for development of eco-tourism in Chhattisgarh. He briefed in details on various aspects of city development of his country. Discussions were also held on the economical growth. Gavin extended invitation to the minister for a visit to Singapore, stating that urban model would be motivating for the Chhattisgarh. Additional director urban Saumil Ranjan and Singapore Vice-Consul (Political) Muhammad Amin bin Abdul Rahim were also present.
