The Static Flying Squads (SFS), formed for the upcoming elections, continued to seize unaccounted money in various parts of the State.
On Friday, unaccounted cash worth over Rs 17 lakh was seized in different places. The Badamal police in Jharsuguda seized Rs 4.5 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh from two separate vehicles. Similarly, the SFS seized Rs 6.70 lakh from a van near Koida Chhak under Bonai block of Sundargarh district. Sources said that the money was being transported from Barbil to Koida area while further investigation to ascertain the source is underway.
In another incident, the Jaipatna Police detained two youths after Rs 5 was lakh recovered from their possession in Dharmagad block of Kalahandi district.
