Two Amrapali officials held for creating bogus companies

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of  the Delhi Police has arrested two officials of Amrapali Builders on Monday evening for creating large number of bogus companies.

The arrested duo were identified as, Chander Prakash Wadhwa  who was chief financial officer (CFO) and Anil Mittal who was the statutory auditor of Amrapali groups of companies.

According to a senior police official, the duo was wanted in a case of cheating, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy.

“The accused persons were instrumental in creating large number of bogus companies for the purpose of diversion of funds of homebuyers by employing their known persons as director or key management posts in those companies and other offences,” said the police official.

“On Tuesday, the duo was produced in Karkardooma courts and five days police custody was obtained, said the senior police official adding that, further investigation is underway.  It may be recalled that three directors of Amrapali, Anil Kumar Sharma, Shiv Priya and Ajay Kumar are already in judicial custody.
