The Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal on Saturday directed both Odisha and Chhattisgarh Governments to hold talks again to resolve the Mahanadi water sharing dispute amicably.
Hearing an interim petition of the Odisha Government, the tribunal asked both the parties to hold another rounds of talks to find out an amicable solution to the water dispute.
The next hearing of the case is scheduled on May 11.
Earlier on March 9, the tribunal had directed both the State Governments to resolve the water sharing dispute amicably deferring its verdict to March 30. A three-member bench of the tribunal had directed the Advocate Generals of the two States to resolve the issue and submit a report in two weeks.
