Training programme for better management of Balika Niketans

After a case where an 18-year-old inmate committed suicide in Balika Niketan situated at Kedarpuram Dehradun in the month of May this year, the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development (DWECD) Government of Uttarakhand has arranged a training programme for the employees working in such homes to get thorough information for dealing with inmates in a better way.

The programme is scheduled for July 1 for the employees of such homes from all over the State.

Informing about the programme, an official in charge from DWECD said, “A training session has been conducted which will be attended by employees and in charge of all such shelter homes and observational homes in the State. These training sessions are not new we conduct such sessions after a gap of three months or six months. However, the training employees about dealing with the inmates will be new learning for the employees” 

Employees from Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and other districts would take part in the training programme.

The employees will be representing 19 such homes situated in all over the State.
