In order to curb the rising crime in the State capital, 50 motor bikes have been included in the Ranchi police bike squad on Thursday as Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited (HMSI) began its second community police initiative with Ranchi Police – its second such social initiative to give speed to policing in the State after Jamshedpur.
A special motorcycle handover rally was held here on Thursday attended by Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Homkar Amol Venukant, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Anish Gupta, along with Director, General and Corporate Affairs, HMSI, Harbhajan Singh and other senior dignitaries from the State Government and Ranchi Police.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion Venukant said, “It is our best effort that we can give a responsive policing and new resources will help to maintain law and order.”
Addressing the gathering on the occasion Singh said, “Fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Honda Two Wheelers India is now providing Mobile Tigers – the Beat Patrolling Team (BPT) of Ranchi Police its LIVO motorcycle for patrolling. These motorcycles have been powered with modern policing features like revolving flashers and blinkers, public announcement system, sirens, flash lights, two Honda safety helmets per motorcycle and cruiser side box.”

The Mobile Tigers of Ranchi Police will now provide immediate rescue and response to any emergency powered by 50 specially equipped LIVO motorcycles of Honda.”
Informing about CSR programme Honda Two Wheeler, Singh said, “For Honda, safety always comes first. Through our dedicated CSR initiatives, Honda is already contributing to making Indians safer on roads, be it through our support to law enforcement agencies or even through our education based road safety programs. Prior to the latest association with Ranchi Police, Honda has already powered the quick response team of Maharashtra (Pune Police), Jharkhand (Jamshedpur Police) and Haryana (Gurgaon Police) with 300 LIVO motorcycles for faster patrolling and crime prevention. Expanding this commitment, Honda will further expand this drive to more States in the near future.”
