The Regional Office of the Indian Meteorological Department here on Wednesday issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for several coastal districts of the State in the next 24 hours.
Moreover, several parts of northern and southern Odisha are likely to experience rainfall in the next 24 hours under the impact of a trough line.
As per the latest forecast, thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind is likely to occur over areas of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Baleswar, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Khordha, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Rayagada districts in the next 24 hours. The IMD has further warned fishermen not to venture into sea as the wind speed of 40 to 50 km per hour is likely to make the sea conditions rough.
