Under the series of Skill Development programme a Terracotta Glaze Pottery workshop was organised by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) Bhopal from November 01 to December 31, 2019 concluded on Monday.
Rashmi Shukla, coordinator of this pottery workshop told that 19 registered participants had participated in this training workshop and created around 365 objects efficiently by using about 165 glaze and 200 terracotta materials. During the workshop, in the primary stage, participants were imparted training to develop pottery by Slab, Koyling and Pinch technique. In secondary stage, they were imparted training of Biscuit firing & glaze technique in 800 degree Celsius temperature followed by Glaze firing in 1050 degree Celsius temperature.
On this occasion, Prof Sarit K Chaudhuri, Director, IGRMS Bhopal congratulated all the participants and said that IGRMS is one of the best Institutions of learning and empowerment. Further he appreciated the work of the participants and said that the terracotta objects created by the participants are very impressive and seems like that these objects were made by veteran people regularly engaged in such work. IGRMS will organize such workshop on regular basis which will be beneficial for the people who wants to participate in such workshop. He requested the participants to share their experiences in social medial platform so that maximum people will be enlightened.
Thereafter, certificates were distributed to all the participants by Prof Sarit K Chaudhuri, Director and DS Rao, Head of Office, IGRMS Bhopal. Programme coordination and vote of thanks was given by Rashmi Shukla, Assistant Keeper.
