On the occasion of Pora-Teeja Tihaar on Friday, a magnificent celebration and festivities were organised at Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's Raipur- based residence.
Women enthusiastically participated in the fun activities held on the occasion such as kabaddi, phugdi and jalebi daud.
Women also exchanged greetings of Pora-teeja. They also danced to the songs performed by folk singer Mamta Chandrakar. Raichuli Jhula was also arranged at the venue. Chief Minister also enjoyed the swing ride with his daughter.
Stage and the tent were decorated in traditional manner for Pora-Teeja, as per the culture of Chhattisgarh. The decoration was done by students of Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalay. Stage was adorned with bhittichitra artifacts, chiraijhala, saju lauthi, phundra, toran, and colourful curtains. Traditional jewelry such as paijan, kakni, lachcha, santi, kardhan, soota, bichhiya, karanphool were also used in the decoration.
Rural scenery was created using bullock cart, naagar and wheels.
Tijaahirin women at the programme were served 'karubhaat' and other authentic Chhattisgarhi dishes such as thethri, khurmi, doodh fara, tasmai, moong and urad bara. They were also given presents. On the occasion, many public representatives and a large number of women were present.
