Stern action should be taken against those selling fake seeds, fertilizers and pesticides to farmers, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey directed officials.
Selling substandard seeds, fertilizers and pesticides was one of the biggest crimes, the minister pointed out while holding a review meeting of Raipur district-level officials at Red Cross conference hall of the district collectorate here on Saturday.
Choubey, who is also the in-charge minister of the Raipur district said, officials should ensure that farmers did not face any problem in procuring fertilizers, seeds and loan from cooperative committees.
Reviewing the district’s monsoon preparations, he directed to ensure that water inundation did not take place in civic body limits. For this, he said, all drains should be cleaned on regular basis and there should be adequate drainage. The water harvesting should be taken on priority basis, he added. Women Self Help groups should be involved in making alternative arrangement to replace plastic.
Minister in stern note directed officials concerned to shift liquor shops from around the periphery of schools.
On cattle, he said under the ‘Suraji Gaon Scheme’ the ‘Gauthan’ must have adequate storage of fodder and drinking water. The cattle moving around in the capital city of Raipur, mainly on roads, should be shifted to a safe zone.
Choubey directed the officials and other employees to be in office on time, so that people did not face problem. The revenue related issues like division, measurement and nomination cases should be resolved within a time period, he said.
Raipur collector Dr S Bharatidasan briefed the meeting on all developmental works being undertaken in the district.
