SS Eye Hosp gets upgraded Diabetic Retinopathy Instruments

Siddh Bhauji, Chairman of the Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital Trust, here on Monday, handed over the upgraded Diabetic Retinopathy Instruments to Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital. These instruments include one Fundus Angiography camera, Hand held Fundus camera and a set of 6 fundus cameras for one each to Sehore, Kalapipal, Shujalpur, Harda, Mandideep and Berasia vision centres. Cost of this project is 45.11 lakh.

This project has been aided by Lions Club International Foundation, Lions Club Bairagarh greater and Lions Club Bhopal Couple. With the setting of these instruments, Diabetic Retinopathy patients would now be able to get the advanced DR treatment facilities in the hospital.

On this occasion, Sant Siddh Bhauji said that Paramhans sant Hirdaram Sahib ji in his life time always preached us that the services to ailing eye patients for saving their vision will bestow joy and pleasure in the lives of the volunteers. Sadhu TL Vaswani also shown us the path of service. Sadhu Vaswani ji had once told that the meaning of service is more service in the life of volunteers and serving organizations. He said that if anybody wants to be happy in his or her life, they should always help and serve the poor and the needy.

Siddh bhauji assured the office bearers of Lions Club that a regular performance report will be sent to the club so as they can know about the fruitfulness of the instruments. State Programme officer Blindness eradication Dr Hemant Sinha said that only at Bhopal over 15,000 patients of Diabetic Retinopathy are available, but due to the lack of sufficient instruments, organisation and expert services, Quality treatment of all patients could not become possible till now.

He hoped that by the installation of these instruments in Sewa Sadan now more patients would be benefitted to get quality treatment. Dr Sinha assured that like Govt grant for the cataract surgeries to private Hospitals he will try to get grants for the DR surgeries also. Medical Director Dr Prerna Upadhyaya stressed the need for timely diagnosis of Retina ailment.

Managing Trustee LC Janiyani shared the progress report of SSEH Lion Bhagwan Tejwani, Lion Anil Jha, Lion Kamal Bhandari, Lion RG Pathak, Lion RK Chourasia and Lion Dilip Dhariwal have also expressed their views, Dr Ridhima Deshpande conducted the programme.

Dr Mansi Kishnani shared about the DR treatment facility available in the hospital.
