Chief Secretary SR Mohanty has said that on the 130th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, programmes to be organised on a wide scale in the entire State from 14 November, 2019 to 14 November, 2020, so that the new generation is well acquainted with the thoughts of Nehru and his contribution in building the nation.
Mohanty was addressing a meeting held at the Mantralaya in connection with the programmes to be held on the 130th birth year of Pandit Nehru. It may be noted that the state government has constituted an organising committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for the programmes to be organized on the 130th birth year of Pandit Nehru. It the meeting it was informed that programmes will be organised by the Department of School Education on Pandit Nehru’s book “Bharat Ek Khoj”. Besides, letter writing activity will be conducted on the basis of the book “Pita ke Patra Putri ke Naam”. Under this, the best letter will be rewarded and the same will be published too.
Quiz and other activity based programmes will be organised at school level. The Department of Higher Education will organise an essay and discussion on the ideas of Pandit Nehru and his contribution to the building of the nation in universities. Seminars will be held at the college level. On the 130th birth year of Pandit Nehru, the Directorate of Public Relations will organise seminars and a three-day exhibition in all 52 districts.
Information about mobile picture shows, books on dramatics, radio programmes, film festivals, lectures, seminars, singing, debate and seminars etc being organised by the Culture Department was given in the meeting. Principal Secretary Culture Pankaj Raag, Principal Secretary Public Relations Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Principal Secretary School Education Rashmi Arun Shami and Principal Secretary Higher Education Harirjan Rao were present on the occasion.
