State Health, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister T. S. Singhdeo had fruitful interaction with international health experts on proposed implementation of free healthcare services in Chhattisgarh.
The Health Minister is currently on tour of Thailand while leading a five-member delegation.
Commissioner, Health, R Prasanna informed that on day one of three-day Global Summit, the Health Minister held discussion on topics of Universal Health coverage, integrated health service, role of community health workers and other issues with international health expert David Sanders, Professor and Director of the School of Public Health at University of the Western Cape (UWC). He is also founding member of International Peoples Health Council and People’s Health Movement.
The Health Minister also interacted with World Health Organisation and World Bank officials. The Minister also interacted with employees of Free Health Call Centres and Health sector.
Singhdeo also held discussion with Dr Somsak Chunharas, former Deputy Minister of Public Health of Thailand and General Secretary, National Health Foundation and Senior Advisor to Thailand Public Health Ministry, Dr Suwit Wibulpolprasert. These experts had laid the foundation of the free healthcare services in Thailand.
