Tuesday, 30 April 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

A sex racket operating from a residential house in the state capital was busted with the arrest of seven persons allegedly involved in the flesh-trade, police said on Monday.

Four women, two minor girls and a man were arrested, police added.

“The racket was operated by a woman and his son in Kabir Nagar locality of Raipur city,” Additional superintendent of police (city) Prafull Thakur said.

Interestingly, according to police the racket was active for past two years but police could not trace it.

Police informed that Mukesh Verma, son of the main pimp used to trap poor girls in a love affair through social media and later he and his mother dragged the gullible girls into flesh trade by blackmailing them.

Police booked Mukesh and his mother under sections of Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act while cases against the three women have been registered under section 151 of the IPC. The two minor girls held in connection with the incident have been handed over to woman and child development department, Raipur.
