From each Lok Sabha constituency, 25 best selfies will be selected for attractive prizes as part of a ‘selfie competition’ to be organised by Chhattisgarh chief electoral officer’s office on polling days.
Briefing on the competition, CEO Subrat Sahoo said, “As part of creating awareness among electors, there will be selfie zones for voters in each polling centres.”
The state has 23,727 polling centres for LS polls 2019.
“Outside the polling centre, a five feet 20x30 inch size poster will be installed. The elector can stand before it and take selfies. The selfie taker should have the ink mark on the index finger of left hand,” Sahoo said.
Sahoo further said, “To take part in the competition, along with the selfie, the participants’ EPIC number, name of assembly constituency and Lok Sabha constituency should be uploaded in their respective Facebook account or twitter and tagged it to #ChhattisgarhVotes or @CEOChhattisgarh. It can also be emailed to cgelectionselfiecontest@gmail.com.”
All district electoral officers were informed about the competition and were directed to make all necessary arrangement, including making publicity, for the competition, Sahoo said.
A similar competition was also organised, for the first time, during 2018 state assembly polls. Five best selfies from each assembly constituency were awarded at that time.
