Haryana Police on Monday said it has made elaborate security and traffic arrangements ahead of the New Year Celebrations in the State.
In a statement, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk said that extra force would be deployed for foot patrolling, mobile patrolling, naka duties and at crowded locations like shopping malls, pubs, bars, hotels, resorts, cinema halls on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1 so that people can welcome the New Year peacefully. Virk said all Commissioners of Police and district Superintendents of Police have already been instructed to ensure added arrangements for crowd and traffic management in their respective places of postings. The police would be deployed in all public places and roads without causing hindrance to the festivities. Special focus would be given to the safety of women and children during the celebrations, he added.
