Sambhal deputy collector sacked on graft charges

Tuesday, 31 December 2019 | PNS | Lucknow

Deputy collector of Sambhal, Omvir  Singh Yaduvanshi, was dismissed from service on charges of corruption by the state government for which a notice was issued on Monday.

Yaduvanshi was promoted to UP State Civil Services from the post of tehsildar.

While posted as tehsildar in Kol tehsil of Aligarh, he had transferred title ownership of government land worth Rs 5 crore to a private person in a fraudulent manner.

In November, the state government had sacked additional district magistrate Ashok Kumar Shukla posted in Hathras for putting up a post on social media against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in 2018 and for illegally allocating government land to a resident of Hardoi when he was posted as sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in 2016.

Action was also taken against another PCS officer, Ashok Kumar Lal, who was sacked after charges of corruption against him were found to be true.

Four more allegations against Lal are under investigation.
