More than a thousand people, including a good number of children, ran on roads to spread messages of ensuing ‘Lok Mahoschav 2020’ and ‘Swachh Sambalpur’ here on Saturday.
DIG (NR) Himansu Lal accompanied by officials of the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) and other line departments flagged off the mini marathon. Lal wished ensuing Lok Mahoschav a grand success and appealed people to keep the city clean.
DRDA PD Sukanta Tripathy, SMC Additional Commissioner Debendra Nanda, Enforcement Officer Subhankar Mohanty, DFO (Territorial) Dr Sanjit Kumar, police and fire personnel participated.
The committee distributed 1000 T shirts and caps to the young participants.
Lok Mahoschav officials gave away prizes of Rs 5,000, Rs 3000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 to winners in first, second, third and consolation categories, respectively. A total of 16 boys and girls got prizes.
