Regional Transport Office continues to issue challans to Vikram drivers who are operating the vehicles as stage carriages in the city.
However, president of City Bus Union Vijay Vardhan Dandriyal said that issuing challan alone is not good enough.
He also alleged that without the help of senior officers in RTO and Transport Department, it would not have been possible for Vikrams to operate in such a way openly.
When asked about the issue Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Arvind Pandey said, “After the publication of the amended rules, we will now be suspending permits of those Vikram owners who are caught operating like stage carriages second time for two months.”
He further added, “In the three days campaign conducted from May 27, we have issued challans to 203 vehicles and seized 17 vehicles.”
