An amount of Rs 125 crore, which was held for the last academic years has been released by the State Government under the ‘Awas Sahayta Yojana’ for Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe students. This amount also includes a sum of Rs 46 crore of the Schedule Caste Welfare Department and Rs 79 crore of the Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department.
The amount released includes Rs 49 crore of the year 2017-18 and Rs 30 crore of the academic session 2018-19 of the Schedule Caste Welfare Department. Similarly, an amount of Rs 79 crore has been released by the Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department under the ‘Awas Sahayta Yojana’ for the year 2018-19.
Under the ‘Awas Sahayta Yojana’, Rs 2,000 per month at divisional level, Rs 1250 at district level and Rs 1000 at block/ tehsil level is provided to those students of schedule caste and tribe category, who do not get hostel-facility for collegiate education.
