A married woman, a resident of Jamshedpur, has brought allegation that she and her three-year-old daughter were abandoned by her husband. She has also alleged her husband and her in-laws of torturing her and her husband having married another woman without taking divorce from her.
She had earlier met the then Rourkela SP to get justice but she was not provided justice and later she had written about her plight toUnion Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi.
According to sources, Sudipa Nayak (36), a resident of Mango, Dimna
Jamshedpur, had married Ashis Nayak (37), a resident of Chhend Colony, Rourkela on November 20, 2011. Sudipa’s father had given dowry articles and gold items worth Rs10 lakh at the time of marriage. At the time of marriage, Sudipa was working at Mumbai as Assistant
Manager in a MNC and Ashish was also working as Business Development Manager at Pune.
After their marriage, Sudipa and her husband Ashis stayed at Pune from October 2012 to January 2013. Later from February 2013 to October 2015, the couple stayed at Kolkata.
When Sudipa became pregnant, she had to quit her job. Sudipa has alleged that her husband and in-laws were greedy people and used to taunt her for earning. She had to come to her in-laws house at Chhend to stay there for her delivery. Sudipa gave birth to a baby girl on January 2 , 2016 and as per the allegation of Sudipa, since she gave birth to a girl, their in-laws started torturing her. Finally, Sudipa lodged a case with the Rourkela police.
After waiting for a long time, when she did not get justice, she wrote to Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi mentioning her plight and mentioning her torture against her by her husband and her in-laws. Maneka Gandhi forwarded her plight to National Commission for Women and according to sources, NCW had directed to the then Rourkela SP and Jamshedpur SP for investigating her plight.
Sudipa further took the shelter of Jamshedpur court and Judicial Magistrate, Jamshedpur, to get justice. Sudipa has alleged that Ashis married secretly to one Mahasweta Mahakud, working in IBM Bangalore, without taking divorce from her.
