Besides providing relief to the citizens in parts of Madhya Pradesh, the pre-monsoon showers have brought problems of disruptions in power supply evoking angry response from the public.
Noted Urdu poet from Indore has tweeted regarding the power woes. The power outages were rampant in commercial capital Indore, the home town of Rahat Indori.
Power outages are quite common these days. Today as well, there is no power for last three days. It’s summer and also Ramzan and no one is picking calls at power distribution company, wrote Indori on twitter late on Sunday tagging Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Minister for Energy Priyavrat Singh.
Several internet users took a poetic dig at Congress government over power outages.
There are senior BJP leaders including --Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargav and former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who have persistently slammed Kamal Nath government over power scarcity on several occasions. Bhargav during the lok sabha poll campaign had claimed that Kamal Nath government had promised to halve electricity bills but none would know that it would do so by slashing power supply by half.
Chouhan too have been taking sly digs at Congress government saying the generator era of Digivijaya Singh is back in Madhya Pradesh. He had even claimed that power cut was witnessed when CM Kamal Nath had gone to cast his vote in lok sabha polls in Chhindwara.
Sensing the situation, Chief Minister Kamal Nath has convened an emergency meeting of top power company officers in Bhopal on Tuesday warning them of dire consequences, if power supply situation fails to improve immediately. The Chief Minister told the officers that power outages in power surplus state is unacceptable and if power distribution company officers fail to improve situation, they should be ready to face action.
