The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday alleged that the state is reeling under frequent power cut and that they people are taken for ride by the Congress government in the name of slashing the power tariff.
The party’s state Spokesperson and former MLA Shrichand Sundarani in statement accused the ruling Congress of cheating the farmers of the state by not providing round-the-clock power to them.
“Power cut is a common problem now-a-days not only in villages but also in places barely a few kilometers away from the capital city,” he said.
The farmers are facing power cut for three to four hours every day and this clearly proves that the Congress has gone back on their promise of slashing the power tariff, he said.
Congress attempts to pass on its failure on the previous government is not fair, Sundarani further said. The Congress must accept that it was Saubhagya Yojana of Modi government which extended power supply to farthest villages in the state, he added.
Sundarani also charged that the Congress government has failed to control the officials of the power company and these officials are acting in an autocratic way.
