In the case of an infant girl recently found dead near Gandhigram Bridge in Dehradun, district police will be conducting further investigation on the gap they found in post mortem report.
Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nivedita Kukreti said, according to post-mortem report the infant died because of ante-mortem injuries.
However, the birth anomalies that were stated by doctors who had treated her are not mentioned in the report.
SSP Kukreti said, “In the post-mortem report, the cause of death is ante-mortem injuries.
However, in our investigation after talking to the doctors we found that the infant was born with various birth related anomalies.
Her lungs were not properly developed. She had no pulse or heartbeat when she was born, the pediatricians present revived her somehow but when they handed her over to the father, they clearly told her that she will not live for more than five to seven minutes.”She further added, “The report that we got from the hospital and the report of her post-mortem have contradtions, which we are investigating as of now.”
It is pertinent to mention here that on May 23, body of an infant girl was found near Gandhigram Bridge, by the local people.
According to the Firdaus Saifi, the woman who picked her up from the garbage, the infant was bleeding profusely from the back of her head and navel.
