A country-made pistol with cartridge, which was kept inside the house of a notorious criminal Mashraful Ansari near Noorinagar, was recovered by Bokaro thermal police today, said Inspector-cum-Officer-in Charge Umesh Kumar Thakur.
Police said that the police raided the house of Mashraful Ansari, son of Kurban Ansari, this morning, but the criminal escaped before the cops arrived.
According to the Officer-in-Charge, the trio had stolen one motorbike from Central market at Bokaro thermal late in the evening on Monday while the local police swooped down on the residence of Mushraful Ansari near Noorinagar early morning.
“We raided the place after getting a tip-off that Mushraful was hiding there. But, the criminal escaped before the police team reached the spot.
Though we could not catch Mushraful, yet we did manage to recover the locally-made pistol and cartridge from his house,” he said. Thakur said the pistol was found under the bed during the raid.
