To raise awareness among common people and enhancement of police investigation, the Dehradun district police will be conducting a workshop with the help of United States Embassy overseas investigation head. This comes after increasing number of cases were registered in the last two years regarding fraud job offers, immoral trafficking and illegal immigration.
Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nivedita Kukreti on Thursday said, “We are planning to conduct a workshop with the help of US Embassy overseas investigation head.
The workshop will most likely be held in the first week of June. It will be for both our investigators as well as common citizens. This is basically to create awareness among the citizens regarding immigration and fraudulent job offers, so that they don’t get trapped in these acts in future.”
She further added, “What happens is that people sometimes come in contact with a tout, who approaches them with an attractive job offer abroad.
To make sure that before paying anyone people check their authenticity and registration as an agent with the government we are conducting this seminar.
We are focusing on both, investigation as well as awareness. Also, what help embassy can provide us in cases like this will also be discussed in the workshop.”
