Emphasising the need to work with a holistic approach to transform the healthcare system of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said besides preventive care, the Central Government is giving special emphasis on generating new infrastructure facilities.
Addressing the people at a programme organised in Panchkula through video conferencing from Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, the Prime Minister said a decision has been taken to open 75 new medical colleges in the country which would not only ensure better treatment facilities to the people but also create 16,000 additional seats of MBBS.
Modi inaugurated ten Ayush Health and Wellness Centres in Haryana under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna by pressing the remote button. With this, Haryana has become the first State in the country to have got ten Ayush Health and Wellness Centres in under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna.
He also released postage stamp on 12 Master Healers of AYUSH and presented Yog Awards for making outstanding contribution in the promotion of yog.
Congratulating the people of Haryana after inaugurating 10 Ayush Health and Wellness Centres in Haryana through digital link, he said that both preventive as well as health
care facilities are available on these centres.
He said that there is a target to set up 12,500 Ayush Health and Wellness Centres in the country of which 10 have been inaugurated in Haryana on Friday.
