Chhattisgarh BJP Kisan Morcha’s former president Sandeep Sharma alleged that farmers are unable to sell their produce due to lack of transportation and on the other hand paddy have been stacked at the procurement centres.
He claimed that the primary societies, citing lack of space, are not procuring paddy.
The BJP’s farmer leader blamed the state government for not charting any policy-based arrangement for paddy milling due to which the paddy stocked in procurement centres are not being lifted for milling.
He alleged that the state government is now trying to fix the responsibility at primary society managers and procurement in-charge, when the state should resolve the issue.
Sharma said it is the responsibility of the state government to make arrangement for milling so that paddy stocks are lifted from procurement centres.
He further said farmers having sold their produce a fortnight ago have not received the payment. The procurement processes have slowed down due to such policy deficiency and as a result farmers are agitating at different places, he claimed.
