State Congress on Monday claimed that it will register one-sided victory in ensuing Panchayat polls going to be held in the state in three phases from January 28.
State general secretary and chairman communication wing of the party Shailesh Nitin Trivedi in a statement said similar to the party’s success in assembly by-polls in Bastar and in the recently concluded urban body polls, the Congress will also emerge victorious in Panchayat elections, continuing its winning streak.
“The fulfillment of promises made during assembly elections to labourers and farmers by implementing farm loan waiver and providing minimum support price of Rs 2500 for per quintal of paddy will certainly help the party in succeeding in the election as by doing so we have won the hearts of the people”, he claimed.
Erstwhile BJP government in a well planned conspiracy had tried to restrain illiterates from contesting the Panchayat bodies’ polls but the ruling Congress by making necessary amendment has made provisions for illiterates also to participate in the festival of democracy, Trivedi said.
Asserting that it was Congress which had empowered the Panchayat bodies by making amendment in the Constitution, Trivedi claimed that the party very well knows how to make strong the elected representatives of them.
