An Assembly-level intellectual meet was held by BJP Nuapada at Khariar on Sunday to discuss about Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
BJP State president and Nuapada MP Basant Panda along with district president Subrat Thakur and Prasanna Padhi spoke on the issue which was followed by interactions with the intellectuals present in the meeting.
"The opposition parties including Congress and TMC of Mamta Banerjee, who could not motivate public sentiment against the removal of Articles 370 and 35A or on the issue of Ram Mandir are trying to mislead people on the issue of CAA. They will not succeed in their intentions to sabotage the implementation of the Act," said Panda in his address on the issue. The speakers also elaborated how Congress party kept itself aloof from such issues for fear of losing its vote bank. "When PM Narendra Modi has dared to bring the change, the Congress is feeling threatened," said Panda. The speakers appealed the participants to come forward to reconstruct India under the leadership of Modi.
"The CAA will provide opportunity to those religious minorities of our neighbouring countries, who are suffering under Muslim rule; but it is not against any Muslim," said the speakers. Lawyers, social activists, lecturers, business men and senior citizens of Khariar town attended.
