Bairagarh police has nabbed a 27-year old youth and recovered a country-made pistol and one live cartridge from his possession late in the evening on Sunday. According to the police, acting on a tip off , a youth was nabbed near a liquor shop and when he was searched, a country made pistol and cartridges were recovered.
The miscreant was not able to provide any details of keeping the country made pistol legally and was charged of keeping arm illegally. The accused was identified as Amir Hussain of CTO Bairagarh.
After the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act and have started investigation to unearth the network of supply and demand.
Police have claimed that the miscreant was nabbed with the country made pistol and cartridges which suggests that he was on his way to commit crime and on the other possibility of the selling the weapon could not be ruled out which would be investigated in the further investigation. Based on the details police have started investigation regarding the buyer and seller involved in the network.
The nabbed accused holds past crime record and has been booked for different crimes in the past. The source from which the accused has procured the country made pistol and cartridge are yet to be identified said police.
Meanwhile, Jehangirabad police have nabbed a miscreant for violating orders of externment; accused was nabbed from Barkhedi area on Sunday. The accused identified as Chotu alias Pramod Yadav was nabbed from Barkhedi area. He was externed on March 27, 2017 for six months under section 5(1)(2) of Madhya Pradesh State Safety Act 1990 from Bhopal, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Raisen and Hoshangabad.
